Satellites Art Project: Murals to Houston
Satellites Art Project: Murals to Houston
At a time when connecting with loved ones socially was strongly discouraged and unsafe, we rallied together with a group of artists to create a set of murals with shareable messages that people could snap a picture with and send a “digital postcard” to friends and family that they had been separated from during the pandemic.
Artists:
The One Lee | David Maldonado | Mel Eason | Gabriel Prusmack | Jesse de Leon | AJ Rose | Anat Ronen
Project Type:
Public Mural
Location:
Houston, TX

FROM H-TOWN WITH LOVE
Why did we do this project? Because we love Houston and wanted to give back to the community that loves and supports its artists. Actually, here’s a 90-second mini-documentary that says it better.

A GIFT FROM THE ARTISTS AND HOSTS TO HOUSTON
This entire mural project was a volunteer-based and fueled by the passion of the artists and hosts. The artists provided their own supplies and donated their time to paint each mural for the community.
Nadiah Hussain, co-founder of Folding Chair, and AJ Rose, founder of UXD, planned and coordinated the project to completion. José Rodriguez, co-founder of Folding Chair, planned, shot, and edited the video for the project.
A special thanks goes out to the artists, the hosts, healthcare workers, first responders, and the City of Houston.
Without them, these messages would not exist
