THE MISSION
NIKA Solutions is a group providing mission support, logistics, and engineering and program management services for Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies, and commercial and higher education institutions. As they planned the opening of a new home-front in San Antonio, Texas, they wanted to welcome employees and clients with a bit of Texas fanfare and show off their love for golf while incorporating their “Get Sh*t Done” mantra.

THE OUTCOME
We designed a set of murals that included a mural for their coffee bar and golf room that included landmarks and values of the company. Our team produced the works within a tight timeframe between construction finishes and the company’s official opening launch.
The mural at the coffee bar is titled “Heart of Texas” and is a story of beautiful Texas skies draped over a San Antonio landscape. It showcases sunrise to night sky settings sweeping from left to right, all encased in an sweeping frame that transitions the mural into the original office wall colors.
The golf room mural titled “GSD” highlights the celebration of hard work and dedication, depicted through Tiger Woods and his iconic career. It showcases Wood’s iconic celebratory pose in front of a golf course and includes a few acronyms special to NIKA peppered throughout the bottom. The finishing touches include handcrafted and laid golf tees and circular halftone “golf ball” dots that draw the 2D artwork off the wall — adding some fun dimension to the space.
